Timeless Accents is run by Orna and Arie Shachar. We’re a husband and wife team, based in Perth, Western Australia. We produce original hand-painted giftware, household items, signs and plaques, made out of timber and metal. Our online store features items such as cards and prints from our most popular designs, hand-painted by Orna Shachar.
All of our products are lovingly made in our home studio. We value individual craftsmanship and attention to detail, and firmly believe that our pieces reflect our commitment to the art of handmade wares, whether we bring an old recycled piece back to life, or create a product from scratch.
We produce customised signs for business and personal use, including house blessings, bar signs, house-warming plaques, personal sayings for family and friends, humorous sayings and many more. We also recycle and decorate a variety of metal products, such as vintage kettles, tea-pots, watering-cans, jars, trays and bowls. Our extensive line of original giftware includes, jewellery boxes, decorated vintage suitcases, country-style clocks and bells, kitchen-ware, bathroom items and many more.
Many of our products have been featured in Australian and international art and craft magazines, books and newspapers, and are continually in demand by magazine publishers. Our work has also been featured in numerous exhibitions in Australia.
About the Artist:
Orna Shachar is a West Australian folk-artist with more than 20 years experience in folk-art and decorative painting. This store features Orna’s designs and projects from past and present. Orna’s designs and products are constantly published in magazines, books and newspapers, and she is a well-known artist in her local community.
Over the years, Orna has developed several unique techniques for decorating metal-wares, both new and old. Objects such as kettles, tea-pots, jars, trays and watering-cans, made out of different metals, are treated, decorated and recycled back to life by Orna’s original designs. Another area which Orna works in is an original mixed-media technique she has created, combining silk-prints, lace and crystal stones, with unique two-dimensional painting to decorate objects such as jewellery boxes, vintage suitcases and wall-art.
Orna has a strong educational background in art and colour theory, and these days, works primarily in the medium of acrylic paints. However, with years of experience in various art media, which includes knowledge of jewellery making (from scratch), embroidery, needlepoint, oil painting, and many others, Orna’s artistic background is not limited to acrylic painting.
Orna’s products are on sale in Fremantle Markets, Coventry Square Markets in Morley, Western Australia, and in her home studio in Perth, Western Australia. Click here for more details on these shops. For those who are interested in learning folk-art and decorative painting, Orna also conducts classes in her beautiful studio in Perth every second Sunday.
